Five persons were confirmed dead; three female adults, two children and one male, while five others were injured in a multiple auto crash which occurred Sunday around 6.10 pm on the 3rd Mainland bridge inward Iyana Oworo by UNILAG Water front.
The accident involved 3 vehicles which included a Lag bus, Hilux truck belonging to a local vigilante group and a Rover jeep. The injured persons were taken by LASAMBUS to the Trauma Centre.
The dead bodies have been deposited at the Mainland Hospital Mortuary. LASTMA, FRSC, Nigerian Police, RRS are at the scene.
The LASEMA Response Unit recovered the vehicles.
LASEMA General Manager, Mr. Michael Akindele said proper investigation would be carried out on cause the accident by the relevant Government Agencies.
He, however, advised motorists to prevent over speeding and also adhere to all traffic rules and regulation to avoid incident such as this.
